From abandoned paper mills deep in the forests of Portugal, old textile factories in the “Industrieviertel” of Lower Austria, to former engineering works of his native Czechia, Martin constantly researches potential new sites that could yield interesting images. He often feels that he is running against time, as many interesting industrial monuments are demolished every year to make way for new development, or to remove dangerous ruins and problematic brownfields.
